Malta intended to debut at the 3rd edition in Helsinki, Finland with Ira Losco feat. David Laguesse and the song The Person I Am. Malta was drawn into the first semi final and was given number 12 in the running order, following Albania and preceding Croatia. When the deadline came, no votes from Malta came so Malta was disqualified. Malta would have come 8th with 49 points, qualifying into the final. After finding a new player for Malta, they chose Claudia Faniello with the song When It's Time to represent them in Yerevan, Armenia. Malta was drawn into the first semi final and was given number 2 in the running order, following Spain and preceding Germany. Malta has decided that Maxine Pace with her song Fed Up will participate in WSC #5. Malta once again failed to qualify to the Grand Final.
